The sharpest example: crypto
No court can recover a seed phrase, and exchanges freeze accounts for heirs. Semparo seals your seed phrases, hardware-wallet PINs, and a plain-language letter telling your family what any of it means, released when you stop responding and your KeyKeepers confirm, not by a timer that fires just because you went off-grid.
That letter is the difference between an inheritance and a story about one.
The level of safety, spelled out
So we built the box nobody can open. Not a hacker, not a court order served on us, not a rogue employee, and not Semparo itself. Here is exactly what that means.
ZERO-KNOWLEDGE
Your master key is derived on your device and never leaves it. Every letter, video, account item and document is encrypted before a single byte reaches us. Support cannot peek, a subpoena gets noise, and a breach of our servers exposes nothing readable. If we could read your vault, we would be a liability. We can't, on purpose. Even the few details we must use to run the service, like your email and your people's contact info, are encrypted at rest, so a stolen database is ciphertext, not a list of our users.
POST-QUANTUM
A message recorded for a birthday thirty years out has to survive thirty years of cryptanalysis. Your vault uses hybrid encryption: proven classical cryptography layered with NIST-standardized post-quantum algorithms, so breaking it requires breaking both. Most banks don't do this yet. We had to.
RELEASE MACHINERY
Opening the vault is a state machine, not a shared password. It begins only if the system stops hearing from you entirely: no check-ins from the app on your phone, no replies on any channel, over a long stretch of time. Then two of your three trusted people must confirm with the secrets in their sealed letters, and a waiting period follows during which we keep reaching you on every channel. One reply from you stops everything.
Open for review. The full design is published for anyone to inspect, and the client encryption core goes source-available ahead of launch so independent cryptographers can read the exact code that runs in your browser. We built it to be examined.
Keeps working even if we don't. If Semparo ever wound down, your plan keeps working long enough for your family to receive and download everything. No data held hostage, no vanishing overnight.

A breach of our database exposes ciphertext, and nothing else. Your vault is zero-knowledge, so your letters, videos, and keys are never readable by anyone but you.
